A person that president Trump had sex with a decade ago was given a half-hour interview on CBS’s 60 Minutes, and we are all being told that it matters.
Seriously, if you give “Stormy Daniels Interview” a google you’ll be hit with articles telling you over and over how important this “issue” is, but why?
The “why” is obvious… It doesn’t matter. If it were important we wouldn’t have to be told that it’s important. It’s the same logic behind the whole “smart people don’t say they are smart” thing.
But just for fun, we will take the bait. We will play their little game and see why it matters.
From Vox’s “Why the Stormy Daniels story matters, in one paragraph”:
This is about abuse of power, pure and simple, a point that Daniels’s attorney, Michael Avenatti, makes extremely well in his own interview with 60 Minutes’ Anderson Cooper:
COOPER: There are people who argue that this much ado about nothing, that if this was not a story about an adult film actress and the president of the United States, no one would pay attention.
AVENATTI: This is about the cover-up. This is about the extent that Mr. Cohen and the president have gone to intimidate this woman, to silence her, to threaten her, and to put her under their thumb. It is thuggish behavior from people in power. And it has no place in American democracy.
The goalposts keep shifting as the media discovers people a caring less and less about this story. At first, the left was trying to shame conservatives with some “party of family values” nonsense. Now, having realized “oh, wait, Clinton, Weinstein, most of the guys in Hollywood… those are our guys”, they resort (for now) to some sort of “thuggish behavior” narrative.
Once again, conservative Americans haven’t forgotten about the women who spoke out against Bill Clinton. The left can play the “that was years ago” card all they want, but that doesn’t mean we have to pretend that they care about one’s morality when in the highest office of the land. These are the same people who are gung-ho about scrambling baby brains because the kid could grow up poor or something like that. Morality is not in their lexicon.
Furthermore, conservatives really only care about their agenda being pushed. While Trump is definitely not the answer to their prayers, he was a much better option than the alternative. It’s laughable to think that liberals really believe Trump is viewed us as some republican savior. Nobody views him that way, and only morons have that sentiment.
Now, a day later, we have talk show hosts trying to sell us on this being a “campaign finance” issue. Megyn Kelly had a panel on today where she asked if it was “possible” that there was an illegal use of campaign funds in order to keep Stormy Daniels quiet, and was given a very solid “maybe, we don’t know” from her guest. Wow, what brilliant insight. A “we don’t really know” is definitely enough to convince people this is a story worth following…
Ok, so we’ve established that this is a nonstory. Some lady with a huge rack had sex with the president and was given a six-figure check to not talk about it. I repeat, a woman consensually had sex with Donald Trump 11 years ago and was given more than $100k to not write a book about it.
Why do liberals suddenly care about the morality of our leaders? There’s this weird thing they like to do where they criticize the “Christian conservative”, but at the same time, they make fun of Christianity.
They make fun of people for believing in a “sky daddy,” and then get mad that people don’t vote for leaders that the “sky daddy” would approve of. It makes absolutely no sense.
Personally, I hope the media keeps bringing up the president’s sexual conquests, because at least it’s entertaining.
